Ask Frozen Realms Creators

FAQ

Q: Can Frozen Realms already be played?
A: Yes, absolutely! Frozen Realms is already fully playable as a physical prototype, with full games actively being played.

Q: How can I support the project?
A: Follow us on social media and leave your email here to stay updated. To be honest, just by being here, sharing your feedback, and showing interest – you are already fueling this project. Thank you!

Q: How are you planning to start selling the product?
A: We plan to launch Frozen Realms through a Kickstarter campaign. It will allow early supporters to get exclusive rewards and be a crucial part of bringing the game to life!

Q: How big is the game?
A: Frozen Realms is a large-scale 4X experience with deckbuilding elements. It features a modular Campaign Map, a separate Battle Map for tactical combat, and over 1000 cards along with many other components. That said, the modular map allows you to scale the game down for shorter and simpler sessions. So even if you have less time, you can still jump in and play.

Q: What player modes are available?
A: Frozen Realms supports multiple ways to play. You can experience the game solo against Chaos, team up in a cooperative mode against it, or face other players in competitive PvP. You can also merge PvP with Chaos for a full on chaotic experience!

Q: Is the game hard to learn?
A: No, it’s easy to learn but hard to master. You’ll pick up the mechanics quickly, but mastering the game is where things get really interesting. The skill ceiling is incredibly high, so there’s always something to improve.

Q: What does 2–10+ hours playtime mean?
A: The Campaign Map is modular, so you can adjust the size depending on how long you want to play. Want a quick 2 hour session? Go with a smaller map. Want the full grand experience? Play on the full 41 x 41 inches map (1.05 m x 1.05 m).

Q: What kind of players is this game for?
A: It’s designed for players who enjoy strategy, long term planning, and meaningful decisions. If you like 4X games, deckbuilding, or tactical battles, you’ll feel right at home.

Q: What is it with the persistent health after battle?
A: So let’s say your Frozen Knight takes heavy damage in battle and drops to just 2 HP remaining – that Unit returns to the Campaign Map with those same 2 HP. Unless you have ways to heal or protect it, that damage stays with you, meaning your armies carry the real consequences of war. You might have a full army of 6 Units… but if they’re all barely alive, one strong spell could send them straight to their graves…

Q: What does deckbuilding actually do in the game?
A: A lot! First, you build your Unit deck, choosing which Units you’ll bring into this playthrough – maybe aggressive monsters, elite cavalry, heavy ranged forces, or full trebuchet supremacy… that part is up to you. Then you build your strategic deck, which shapes how you play throughout the game with Tactic Cards, Battle Cards, Campaign Map Cards, and Spells. So in Frozen Realms, deckbuilding doesn’t just support your strategy – it helps define your entire faction and playstyle!
