Fantasy Tabletop Devlog – Chaos Structures Nerf, New Shriekspire Building & Tech Card Balancing

Another week and another batch of news from the Frozen Realms development process 🔥
So what exactly have we learned and changed in the game since the last time?

First of all – the Crumbling Watchtower.
Now, instead of increasing Dread by 2, it increases it by 1. We decided to lower the number because the pace of Dread rising was simply too quick and quickly overwhelmed the player.
We also added some limits to how many of these structures Chaos can place at each threat level. This helps with pacing and already feels much more enjoyable!

🔥 New Chaos Structure – The Shriekspire

Since we’re talking Chaos… you probably want to see the new Chaos Structure card – the Shriekspire!
Not too long ago we shared the lore behind this building, and today you can finally see the actual card.

Just a heads up: make sure to clear this structure if you don’t want to lose all your hard-earned Leadership…

Human Cards Showcase

Last week we went ahead and showed all chaos Unit cards revealed so far – so let’s do the same with the humans!

⚙️ Technology Card Balancing

We’ve also been actively playtesting and experimenting with changes to the Technology Cards.
Right now, we’re testing a system where tech costs fewer resources but takes more time to research.
The idea is to make tech more accessible overall, but also slower to grab everything you want.

Armor Piercing Nerfs in Action

Worth mentioning: the Armor Piercing nerfs are already in place!
Here’s the updated version of the Hammerers. Not as OP as before… but still more than capable of holding their own.
