Fantasy Tabletop Devlog – Tiered Structures, Tech Card Changes & New Human Spell Reveal

Well… the weather outside the window is significantly worse XD
But no matter – development is still on fire 🔥

Let’s start off with the big changes…

Structures will now be tiered – a change we think was very much needed.

Here’s why: once you built a few Tier 1 housings, then Tier 2, and once you could afford Tier 3 – you’d only build the highest tier. Most efficient, right? But that allowed players to snowball the whole game with rushing, and Chaos had no way to react…

Now though, whenever you build a Tier 2 structure, the Chaos threat level automatically rises to Level 2. Same for Tier 3 – you build it, get ready for a heavy onslaught. Same goes for units – if you rush Tier 2, Chaos does too.

We think this is the perfect solution – no gatekeeping or artificial barriers for the player. You want to rush it? Fine – but be ready for the consequences… 🔥
But really – tell us what you think!

Here are those changed structures 🔥

Now, onto something else!

We thought it would be nice to bring a little bit of different content to the socials and here on the website 🔥 You can expect regular videos in the future with us (the creators of Frozen Realms).

At the beginning, I’ll probably lead them myself (Kuba – the main guy behind 🔥), but I’ll also try to get us together to talk about the game as well. Podcast-like videos? I know, I know… not those kinds of podcasts XD Maybe let’s scrap the word altogether – it doesn’t have the best connotations nowadays XD

So TL;DR – we want to get to know you, and for you to see who is behind the project! Discord is also a possibility – we’ll see 🔥 Either way, seems like a nice way to get more feedback and help you see the project in a different light. Definitely drop your thoughts on this below!

And to wrap it all up

let’s take a look together at those Tech Card changes we hinted at in the last devblog!
As you can see, we reduced the costs by a lot. Some tech cards now cost nothing except the time it takes to research them (and that was the point – early-game techs), while others are more expensive, requiring higher-tier resources (late-game techs).

Anddd to top it all off – here’s the new Spell Card for Humans – Shattersteel ❄️

While frost magic is often seen as a tool of pure destruction, its weakening potential is just as powerful. Shattering enemy weapons with frost overload has turned the tide of many battles.

Legends speak of mages who froze entire legions’ blades, leaving enemies defenseless in the chaos of war. Shattersteel may not be as flashy as summoning a raging blizzard, but it requires far less energy and is much easier to control. That’s why it’s often one of the first spells learned by young sorcerers on their path to greatness.

That’s it for this development update!
You’re up to date – and we can continue with the works. See ya in the next one, and keep an eye on those socials, cause the new vids are coming 🔥
