And here we are with the very last devblog before Christmas! 🎄
Hope all of you are having a great time, and get ready for some Frozen Realms news!

In the last devblog, we did a quick pre-reveal of the very first Chaos faction – the Realm’Enders.
Here’s their current work-in-progress Faction Card:

Since this is the first Chaos faction and it’s meant to be beginner-friendly, its effects and mechanics are not overly complicated, but still align strongly with the faction’s lore.

Let’s start with the Battle Effect.
+1 Attack makes all Realm’Ender units just a bit stronger on the battlefield – and at no cost at all.
For you as a player, that means recruiting more units or quickly researching technologies might be necessary just to survive.

As an aggressive faction that doesn’t really like to settle down, Realm’Enders have no building bonuses.
When it comes to Campaign effects, we wanted to create a feeling of constant, impending doom – and increasing the Dread counter by 5 for each province conquered by Chaos does exactly that.
Overall, the traits really sell the feeling of a faction driven by pure destruction.

And now for the second part – mystery expansions coming to Frozen Realms at launch.

There will be three expansions:

one for the Human Race,

one for the Zarhi,

and one for Chaos.

For today, we’ve prepared a teaser for one of those expansions… and it all revolves around deceit.

To give you a bit more context on what these expansions actually are:
they are extensions of the core game that introduce new factions, new units, new cards, and more.

But most importantly – they introduce new mechanics that can completely change your playstyle, and in some cases even alter your victory conditions.
These expansions are designed to offer a significantly different experience, while also providing new tools you can use in your existing decks.

So… which expansion are you most excited for?
