Progress Update #51 🛠️ – Lagoon Depths Battle Map Reveal, Human Battle Cards, Empire Lore & BGG Page Launch
Fantasy Tabletop Devlog – Lagoon Depths Battle Map Reveal, Human Battle Cards, Empire Lore & BGG Page Launch
And it’s getting closer, pretty much in a month from now we will be live on Kick! So let’s see what you can expect on launch. It’s time for the second Battle Map reveal, here it is:

Lagoon Depths is the name of this one. So the main point here is the lagoons in the name and the gigantic water beast located in… well… you can see it for sure…
Alright, but the idea behind the lagoons is that this is a connected underground system of waters, hence the Depths in the name. The reason this creature can exist here is because it’s just passing through, soon to enter the unseen depths in the lagoon system underground.
More than that, we wanted to show the dangerous carnivorous plants you can find when walking through the Zarhi jungles. You can see them closer to the waterfalls and on the right side of the water creature.
At the bottom left of the map you will find big predator footprints on the beachy shores of the lagoon. No matter the size, you still have to drink…
Completely different vibes from the first Frozen Realms Battle Map set in frozen lands and completely different from Cinder Rift too. Lagoon Depths, beautiful but in a deceptive way, not a safe place to be in… And that’s what we wanted to do, show the differences and contrasts in the world of Frozen Realms!
Now let’s go see those promised Battle Cards for Humans, starting with this one:

If you are following closely, this one seems familiar, that’s because it is and we already showed it when it was in progress! So yes, another hint to the Empire’s technological supremacy, although not all of those advancements work as you would expect…
And Already Prepared is also here with some lore:

In times of uncertainty and war, unity and leadership are the most important things. Ruled with an iron fist, in the Empire corruption is almost non-existent. Giving people hope and a reason to fight for every inch of their land.
Higher positions are appointed based on the capabilities of each individual. With new rules and laws coming in, efficiency of command is under even more surveillance, leading to many generals losing their positions to more capable and fresh commanders. Any type of disobedience is immediately and brutally crushed, for the stakes are too high for half measures…
Let’s now take a look at one of the first banners coming to the launch page:

Quick overview and explanation of the game and two photos, Campaign Map with a couple of components and the Frozen Realms box, and of course the Battle Map with some units, battle structures and cards.
Now the last Battle Card we wanted to show, Moment of Disarray.

Something that will certainly come in handy when you need some breathing room to regroup or maybe take down some tough enemies and make it so that they can’t do anything about it.
All in all, great cards to add to your arsenal, all about the tactical efficiency that the Empire has!
And to end the devblog we’ve got some cool news, Frozen Realms is now in the BoardGameGeek database, so you can search it there. We are currently adding pictures and all the relevant information! Here is the link so that you can check it out:
